Pulham CE Primary School

Shine as lights in the world

Our Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

The board of governors works with Mrs Beckett and her team to make sure that everything the school does is focused on providing the best possible education and school experience for every single child. It is our responsibility to make sure that the school’s resources are used well to support learning and to maintain a good environment for all the children.

Individual governors have specific areas of responsibility – such as safeguarding, special educational needs or health and safety – but all governors are kept fully informed about all aspects of the school’s performance and our plans for continual improvement and development.

A Christian vision and values are deeply embedded at Pulham, and governors make sure that these are upheld and supported. This is a particular responsibility of foundation governors, but the entire board is committed to preserving the unique character of the school.

Parents have a strong voice on the board, with two elected representatives who play a full part in all strategic decision making as well as in monitoring the effectiveness of provision. There are also representatives of the church – foundation governors – and the local authority. The Pulham school team is represented by the headteacher – Mrs Beckett – and an elected staff member. There are also up to 4 co-opted members who bring particular areas of expertise. We are fortunate to have such a strong and dedicated governing board working hard on behalf of our children.

Governors are always interested in the views of the wider school community. Catch one of us at school or contact us by phone or email.
